muzak, news & hunting reports

About a month ago a German web magazine named* was the first media after Fathoming Heavy-blog to ever mention the band. Of course, we are pleased to be mentioned by such a great magazine but also we are amused how people, despite how much we do bloody nag it into folks head, misspells our band name. It is simple… SIMPLE, SIMPLE! ONE word, LOWER CASE letters, ONLY!!!

Nothing else.

*After see this changed it into one word but they use upper case letters for all bands so that matter stands.

So fire up your German or use Google translate and read the first-ever article written about us:

Note 2: when we do spread this web site it also gives bloodofjupiter in capital letters… so before we become completely arrogant douchebags we must confess…

Eternal Damnation 2020

We are in 2020 and our debut album “Eternal Damnation” is recorded with technician and co-producer Robert Pehrson in Humbucker Studios in Stockholm. It will be mixed later in the spring and most likely self-released in the fall. The tracks recorded were:

  1. Eternal Damnation
  2. Abstract Unobtainium
  3. Hommage des Ténèbres
  4. Archangel Polymorphess in Blue
  5. 232 – Esoteric Terror
  6. Bleeding
  7. Storm Past Torture

We said we should keep quiet until further on but we just want to thank Robert Pehrson of Humbucker Studios for being an awesome engineer and semi-producer when we recorded our first full length. We do await him to have time to mix it later this spring as he should finalize his tremendous work on this mauling, hypnotizing smoke of complete darkness…

Loading up for a new adventure and we will not speak more until you will be able to hear the result. New merch approaching for the gig with a new t-shirt design and the few super ltd beanies that still remain.

So, if we do not leak any pics or so on any social media, there will be quiet until this storm has passed over us and we do see you in Stockholm at Bar Brooklyn, February 22nd for the first headlining show with a full set ever and our first show in 2020.

The era of absolutely nothing

In the process of writing, I sometimes go for different subjects for inspiration. For some of the new songs, we will be featuring the subject nothing. Like in absolutely nothing. What is nothing, what something can I place into nothing? What nothing can I place into something? These theories are interesting to work with and see what I can get out of it and what people will interpret from my writings. Most of them are quite open and it is for the eyes of the beholder to decide what something is the nothing I keep going about. Or maybe it is something ending up in nothing that is something, like the quite odd piece named “Abstract Unobtainium” where I create something out of nothing and place it here as well as there and all of a sudden good ol´Cthulu swims into the picture.

In another piece, I just discovered the other day that I might stole that title from a line in a newer Deep Purple-song. I never steal on purpose, but sometimes it´s been told for you before and it can take a long time before you discover that your context do have an overlapping with a certain context from somewhere else. The funny thing is when you do discover the most unpredictable coincidences. They are really not that obviously many of the times.

Inspirational elements are likely far back in my head and when I do write something I apparently do have something completely else on my mind. Why my contexts often ends up in complete complexity. Unpredictable and also fascinating. Looking at my book, I discovered by a fanmail that I used the title for a song for Opeth many years ago, which I could not for my life remember myself as the song was really not used in the end so it got buried and forgotten. Still the title etched inside my head far back and when I started the work with the book in 2013, I was all clear about the title to start with. The next book, on the other hand, contains a title with words that are newer for me than the days with some other band than bloodofjupiter but the book coming after that contains another theft of an old title from a song that might be remembered by one or two. So there is always a meaning of the nothing that actually is a something, because the day nothing will become nothing, then you probably clocked out already.

One Thousand Years Later…

As some of you did read in my book “Ornament of the Ominous Demoniac – The Coagulated Blood of David” released July 20th, 2017, there were a few phrases about stories that go on for thousands of years. It starts to feel like this band been a thousand-year-old story.

In the year 2007, I and good old Adam Skogvard sowed the seeds for this band. We started to rehearse under the monicker of Somn, later changed to Braathum and skipped due to the too many similarities with Finnish Barathrum. So, failing to start this up as a band I sort of gave up in the year 2009 and hold my full dedication to my Sommelier and Wine-knowledge.

That in its turn lead me to meet wine producers from all over the world and at a gastronomic festival, I met some producers from Chianti in the year 2010. As many of you know, my favorite gastronomic landscape in the world is Tuscany. These people were also into metal and someone needed to tell them my connection to a band in the past, which they were fond of. Anyhow they found out that I was a fanatic of Tuscan wines and we had a long talk about the mysticism and legacy of Tuscan wines in general mixed up with talk about great Swedish Metal Music.

So, with that said, I once again heard I was called back because it is who I am, and early 2011 I had my plan. I formed bloodofjupiter and this time it was no failures in starting up allowed.

So, many were the turns and line-up changes, most people did not have the right dedication, together with some serious health issues I suffered, it certainly delayed the plans. In 2016, the line-up seemed solid and a first gig was booked in September, just a few days before half the line-up decided to quit the band, so it did not happen there either. On the other hand, that was the best thing that could happen, as listening to the tapes from them years, we were a bit too mediocre, not saying the songs could not have been shaped up. We simply just were not there in person ourselves.

So with that, I woke up a bit and I recruited Fredrik Dingvall as a bass player and as a musical conductor. We tried a few people over and out but nothing was really working out. In the year 2018, we finally got Linus Commander Öhrn on guitar and Peter Petterson on drums and the songs were progressing and the band was settled, at last, it felt like a thousand years later.

We played our first show in December 2018 supporting Mefisto and since we played more shows, we sold a lot of merchandise and do have an ever-growing group of fans. Of course, the only ones that do not see this are the business such as record labels and booking agencies. Hey, I´m from the past, from the days before these things existed in Death metal, so I´ll nevermind. So far I arranged all our gigs ourselves and we do have a new one, headlining Bar Brooklyn at Debaser on February 22nd supported by no less than Python.

So, on top of that, we go into the studio for more or less the first time this weekend. We recorded a demo last year in our rehearsal room with studio equipment. This time we do use a real studio, be Humbucker Studios and Robert Pehrsson will be our technician. He is known from bands such as Robert Pehrssons Humbucker, Death Breath and I also do believe he played live with Imperial State Electric if was no full member. So he´s got a great CV, I can tell. I think he is the right guy at this stage to do this together with us.

This mark the first 13 years of Death Doomed Rock n Fvkkin Barolo of Metal as it includes a song me and Adam wrote in 2007, when this started at a first point.

So, the following days I will tell you some about our new songs, that nobody really heard before besides when we played some of them live on stage and some other relevant information about us, who we are and so on.

Because nobody really knows…
