One Thousand Years Later…

As some of you did read in my book “Ornament of the Ominous Demoniac – The Coagulated Blood of David” released July 20th, 2017, there were a few phrases about stories that go on for thousands of years. It starts to feel like this band been a thousand-year-old story.

In the year 2007, I and good old Adam Skogvard sowed the seeds for this band. We started to rehearse under the monicker of Somn, later changed to Braathum and skipped due to the too many similarities with Finnish Barathrum. So, failing to start this up as a band I sort of gave up in the year 2009 and hold my full dedication to my Sommelier and Wine-knowledge.

That in its turn lead me to meet wine producers from all over the world and at a gastronomic festival, I met some producers from Chianti in the year 2010. As many of you know, my favorite gastronomic landscape in the world is Tuscany. These people were also into metal and someone needed to tell them my connection to a band in the past, which they were fond of. Anyhow they found out that I was a fanatic of Tuscan wines and we had a long talk about the mysticism and legacy of Tuscan wines in general mixed up with talk about great Swedish Metal Music.

So, with that said, I once again heard I was called back because it is who I am, and early 2011 I had my plan. I formed bloodofjupiter and this time it was no failures in starting up allowed.

So, many were the turns and line-up changes, most people did not have the right dedication, together with some serious health issues I suffered, it certainly delayed the plans. In 2016, the line-up seemed solid and a first gig was booked in September, just a few days before half the line-up decided to quit the band, so it did not happen there either. On the other hand, that was the best thing that could happen, as listening to the tapes from them years, we were a bit too mediocre, not saying the songs could not have been shaped up. We simply just were not there in person ourselves.

So with that, I woke up a bit and I recruited Fredrik Dingvall as a bass player and as a musical conductor. We tried a few people over and out but nothing was really working out. In the year 2018, we finally got Linus Commander Öhrn on guitar and Peter Petterson on drums and the songs were progressing and the band was settled, at last, it felt like a thousand years later.

We played our first show in December 2018 supporting Mefisto and since we played more shows, we sold a lot of merchandise and do have an ever-growing group of fans. Of course, the only ones that do not see this are the business such as record labels and booking agencies. Hey, I´m from the past, from the days before these things existed in Death metal, so I´ll nevermind. So far I arranged all our gigs ourselves and we do have a new one, headlining Bar Brooklyn at Debaser on February 22nd supported by no less than Python.

So, on top of that, we go into the studio for more or less the first time this weekend. We recorded a demo last year in our rehearsal room with studio equipment. This time we do use a real studio, be Humbucker Studios and Robert Pehrsson will be our technician. He is known from bands such as Robert Pehrssons Humbucker, Death Breath and I also do believe he played live with Imperial State Electric if was no full member. So he´s got a great CV, I can tell. I think he is the right guy at this stage to do this together with us.

This mark the first 13 years of Death Doomed Rock n Fvkkin Barolo of Metal as it includes a song me and Adam wrote in 2007, when this started at a first point.

So, the following days I will tell you some about our new songs, that nobody really heard before besides when we played some of them live on stage and some other relevant information about us, who we are and so on.

Because nobody really knows…
